Just gotta say, So You Want To Be A Demonologist has been at least 50% of my motivation in my career choice. The whole being in the lab, researching and basically never stopping asking why, that is literally my ideal life and I’m so happy I found out I could be paid to do it. I have started work in my university’s physics lab and it is so much fun. I am in such a good place now with that story being a significant part of why. I’m gonna be in school forever but I can’t wait to keep at it!

What a beautiful day to remember that the people who create the “ace people are straight,” the “bi people are straight,” the “trans people are misogynist,” etc. propaganda are trying to tear the queer community apart to make us all easier to pick off so if you’ve fallen for it or spread it yourself, you’re enabling people who want to do harm.
listen if you don’t understand how imagining something happening to a fictional character is different from imagining it happening to a real human being, I don’t know how to have a fucking conversation with you
it’s actually not different at all because your brain doesn’t know the difference between a real interaction and a made-up interaction! things that you imagine happening to you in-depth affect you just as much as it would if it actually happened
I genuinely cannot tell if you’re sincere and that worries me
I can’t think of anything more insulting than telling trauma survivors that the impact to their brain would have been exactly the same if they’d read a story about what happened instead of living through it
So wait, after the end of the universe dipper dies and the world restarts. The nightmares and the dreams become the new demons and angels. So do they ever look into their old master and be happy for him, or a bit sad that he isn’t Alcor any more?
Both- it’s definitely bittersweet. They’re happy that Alcor has finally rejoined the cycle, has the opportunity to be a normal person again, but they also do miss who he was and used to be to them.
HC that Dipper spends a human life span as a violin maker & creates instruments that rival Stradivarius but does this by hand. Only using his powers for other things, never for his instrument making (though he may put runes/a spell on them for longevity idk). His instruments are greatly saught after, even thousands of years after his ‘death’. Bonus if he raises orphaned kids & teaches them how he does it, but they are never as good as his. Extra Bonus if his star pupil is an R!Bill.
Oh my god and you know Dipper
- has a database of all the instruments he made so he can keep tabs on them. It’s an excel spreadsheet, and there’s about forty to fifty categories
- chortles every time he hears his name mentioned as being on the same level as Stradivarius
- doesn’t actually play the instruments he’s made, when the opportunity is presented to him. That would be a little weird, but he can’t exactly articulate why
- is generally a big fucking dork about the whole thing
