I just had a weird thought, but what if in that early period of time when Alcor gets really popular to summon, he still has to listen to the demands of his summoner but keeps getting called by someone else in the middle when they’re still talking. So he makes a kind of demon-answering machine thing with hold music that’s this recording of Mabel singing really off key showtunes. Most groups tend to give up after the second rendition of The Circle of Life.
Some poor new cult sitting through thirty minutes of Mabel singing while a little hand-knitted star with a smiley face on it (also made by Mabel) floats as a little 2D digital text bubble pops up and alternates between “your summon is very important to us” and “please hold”
Dipper would probably only do this once he gets to the point of giving no fucks, and is secure enough with his reputation not to care
