Baby!Mabel having similar problems fitting in as Willow did growing up, with priests, cultists and pro-nats constantly trying to exorcise/kidnap her because she’s “possessed by the demon of Mizar.” Dipper tries revealing to the public that she’s in his care to scare off these people, but it only makes things worse, with most people ostracizing/avoiding her.

So on one hand Maddie spends part of her childhood with no idea that Dipper is not her super dorky dad who wears polo shirts and khakis ALL THE TIME but is actually her super dorky dad who’s also a demon (yknow, as you do)

To be fair, it also helps that Maddie is a little oblivious to her surroundings at times. Whip smart? Absolutely? Great with playdoh and clay? Hell yes? Observant? Ehhhhhhhh.

(she’s snatched walking home from school one day when she is ten years old by a man who has no idea of who she is or who her father is or even much about magic in the first place, but knows his bookie pays top dollar for little girls for his friends in Portland.

Maddie’s world changes forever after that day.)
