Does Alcor interact with Bill’s reincarnations after Toby? I’ve been wondering about that because depending on his mindset, he might kill them because he’s afraid of them becoming Bill again? Or does he keep thinking about his ‘son’ Toby and tries to be a Tsundere protector with them too? Kinda just because he wants to keep an eye on his archenemy.

Alcor treats Bill reincarnations on a case-by-case basis, like he does with most of them.

It’s a very complicated thing to regard the same soul as both an enemy and a possible threat, but also with compassion and care. Bill is awful, but Ian radiates friendship and chaotic fun. Bill is worth smiting, whereas Toby is worth dropping all insecurities and rushing to his aid.

On top of it all, Alcor realizes reincarnations are not the same as their predecessors. This is something he continues to struggle with, but deep down, he knows this.

In any case, so long as Alcor has a shred of his humanity in tact, he wouldn’t kill a Bill reincarnation simply because of a potential risk; he knows first hand that even the most wicked soul can change once they’re no longer a demon.

if Ian sent his fans on a cipher hunt can alcor also go looking because Ian wouldn’t tell him where the statue is

You know it chaps Dipper’s ass that Ian somehow figured out a way to hide it from him.

Joining the Cult of Dad

phenyxsnest:

Maddie and Toby accidentally join either the Cult of Endless Hymns or the Cult of Dipping sauce.

On AO3 // On FF.net

Maddie was still getting used to the idea that her dad, her utter dork of an overprotective goofball dad, was actually a demon masquerading in human form for the sole purpose of raising her and Toby.

And not just any demon, oh no, but Alcor the freaking Dreambender, most powerful demon known to humankind. The Twin Star, unholy offspring of nightmares and the void, unpredictable and unknowable, The Forgotten One, The…okay Maddie forgot the rest, she hadn’t really paid attention after awhile in that class. Alcor had too many titles for a human to remember, anyway.

But still. Her dad. A demon.

And he was still a dork! How was that even possible?

In regards to Toby + Maddie

Mod Z here! I know a few of you might be a little let down concerning a post I made a short time ago essentially saying Toby was never supposed to be in the same lifetime as Maddie.

I want to reassure you: Everyone can still draw/fic/whatever Toby and Maddie together!

The intent of the previous post was to merely explain why there’s a gaping plot hole; not to discourage fanworks with them together.

This plothole came about because I created Toby to not overlap with a Mizar. But fans attached one to him anyway, and I’m very okay with that! Then Maritza, a Henry reincarnation, was introduced to be Maddie’s love interest, and that’s when the plot hole really began.

With the events of Reincarnation Blues, Henry wasn’t supposed to reincarnate for many, many lifetimes due to his soul being destroyed. Toby came along very soon after the events of Reincarnation Blues. Thus, a Henry reincarnation shouldn’t be possible alongside Maddie; that is the plot hole.

So to summarize:

  • Toby without Maddie is not “canon”, it’s only what I intended to be canon at first. That can be changed now!
  • Maritza introduces a gaping plot hole, but since so many people adore her, I hesitate to say she isn’t “canon”.
  • In the end, these are all small enough plot holes, and canon is squishy enough for me to say it’s okay to keep up fanworks even with Maritza.
  • I never intended to devalue or invalidate everyone’s hard work with building on Toby – I still think they’re as valid as anything else, even if it’s a bit shaky with the plot hole. I adore them! 🙂

I apologize for anyone became upset due to my mistake. I really should have taken more time wording such a tender subject. Please, always let me, or any of the other mods, know if this happens again!

Okay but if Ian DID sent his fans on a cipher hunt, would alcor be summoned by fans looking for clues or would summoning alcor actually be a thing you had to do to get a clue

Given that one of the overarching themes of Mizar the Magnificent is ‘don’t try to summon demons’, it probably wouldn’t be required to get a clue.

That’s not to say that nobody would try it, though. (Knowing how fans operate, probably exactly the opposite.)

With the #Cipherhunt going on, I really hope someone in @transcendence-au writes something for Ian doing a parallel to it called Bael Hunt. I don’t know what Ian would have as the prize, but meeting Dipper, Ian in cosplay, or Ian in cosplay possessed by Dipper so he floats, glows, and has other resulting traits would have pretty interesting results.
