If you mean with Butterfly/Mary Ellen, she and her brother were taken by Dipper to live with one of the Pleiades (Willow’s adopted kids) who had their own foster house and knew how to help kids like them (and were used to Dipper dropping kids off and being Grunkle to them all).

If you mean with their aunt/uncle…well. Given how angry Dipper was, I’m sure it’s pretty easy to guess. Hint: it wasn’t pretty.

Dipper called her ‘Butterfly’ in part because it felt right, like it was the nickname she was supposed to have. Plus, both he and I are super dorks, and she was going to break free of her ‘cocoon’ and spread her wings, so slightly dorky nickname ahoy.

I hadn’t meant to write more about her, but now that she’s been brought up, well, I just might. 🙂
