a mizar with a case of: anime background character/main protagonist sidekick. So like, their friend is off saving the world and dealing w/bad guys and transfer students, meanwhile the mizar is living a slice of life with a demon. Bonus points: neither the mizar nor the protagonist friend knows of the others activities, and think the other person has a normal life(and is maaaybe a little jealous, but only a little)
marshmellowextract: Ta-Da! Another little doodlemation featuring Alcor and an offscreen mischevious nibling!
Transdimensional Arc: After much pondering, Dipper realizes that the default adult form Alcor takes is a result of his shapeshifting, and Alcor’s real form is of 12-year old Dipper. Basically, young Dipper realizes that his older alternate self is ‘cheating’ as while he’s over thousands of years old by now, he hasn’t physically aged since that day.
In the future the city of Gravity Fall becomes the statistically safest city in America. You physically can’t summon any demon besides Alcor and the various branches of the Pines Mob family consider it neutral ground and woe be tide anyone who violates that. which results in the crime rates being really low for a city it’s size of course your risk of spontaneously developing tentacles or something is way higher but plenty of people view that as a fair trade off.
HC: Ford writes a new Journal on Dipper, just for himself. He doesn’t keep it a secret on purpose, but no one asks, so no one knows about it. Someone mentions, offhand, how Dipper might be tortured or captured or worse if enough information about him was known – but surely no one has an encylopedia on Dipper, right? Ford passes two sleepless months, then takes Stan’s thirty-year old lighter and reduces the Journal to ash.
Pre-Transcendence Ford was Dippers role model Post-Transcendence Stan is. As time passes he’s respect for Stan only grows. especially when the day comes and Dipper finds himself raising a child alone for the first time and truly understands how Stan must have felt all toughs years ago. Uncomfortable, terrified of screwing up and not at all worthy of this kid but determined to do his best anyway.
When I was younger I used to spend hours and hours pouring over this AU. It’s a big part of why I got a Tumblr in the first place. Yesterday I thought about it for the first time in years and realized how shockingly sad the concept really is. Y’all are amazing.
I may have found an explanation for the Pines’ personal belongings becoming powerful weapons. Ever heard of tsukumogami? It’s an Asian myth that states if an item is cherished for a long period of time, it may develop a soul and become self-aware. I could see such things as being quite powerful if cherished enough.
