Hey triplets, has your favorite uncle Dipper ever terrified you to the point that he has to eat the nightmares he gave you? What was the occasion? Also, what’s the coolest thing about having a demon for an uncle? (-Orion)

tau-cast:

What?! Uncle Dipper has never scared us!”

“Acacia, you’re lying.”

“Nuh-uh.”

“Yeah huh, I don’t even need to see your aura to tell that it’s on your face and-oh.”

Well, Acacia has stomped off to have a tizzy fit-that’s what Cousin Wendy calls them-and Hank is up in our room trying to rebuild Aunt Grenda’s laptop, so I suppose its just up to me to answer.

Sorry about Acacia, by the way. She gets really touchy about when people say anything about her being scared.

I can’t speak for Hank and Acacia obviously-despite what the media may have you think, just because I have the Sight does not mean I can read minds. That’s two separate things, despite what that show on ABC, Mindsplosion, will have you think and….poop. Getting off topic. Sorry….um, yeah.

When I was little, like five or six….um, so…I could always see auras. One of my earliest memories is seeing a bright red cloud around Mom and I remember feeling happy because Mom was happy. But when I was in kindergarten it really ramped up, and I went from seeing them here or there to seeing them all the time. Around the same time I made fire the first time, really.

And no, I don’t know why then and not earlier or later. Uncle Dipper doesn’t either and I know it drives him nuts.

But yeah, not long after that, I was in the house playing with my Legos while Hank and Acacia were outside playing, and Mom and Dad were at the store and Grunkle Stan was in the library so I was by myself and then Uncle Dipper came home from a really bad summon and…and…

I don’t know.

Maybe if it happened now I could better describe what it was like. Have the words for it and all that.

I just remember…feeling waves of hate and anger rush over me, and my stomach churned because it felt like they were my own feelings? And there was blood all over him and each patch had a different color and it made me dizzy to see all of those auras. Thinking about it now, I think I was reading the emotions of each person he…he…he, um dealt with.

He didn’t feel like my Uncle Dipper. He felt like something else.

And then I Saw him.

I don’t remember what I Saw, not really. The only thing that comes to mind is just a lot of wings.

And eyes. Lots and lots of eyes.

I actually passed out at that point; first time I ever did. And when I woke up my throat hurt really bad, like I had been screaming, and Uncle Dipper had me in his lap and he had been crying in my hair and it made my hair all sticky and kind of gross. And he kept apologizing, and saying he didn’t realize I could See him, and….

It’s weird, because I remember being viscerally terrified a moment before, but then I woke up, and Uncle Dipper still smelled like pine trees, and his suit was still soft on my arms and face, and he was gross crying on my hair and….

Uncle Dipper was still Uncle Dipper. There were (there are) parts of him that terrify me, parts of him I don’t want to see and he doesn’t want to show.

But I know he would never hurt me. And that day was the first time I truly learned that.

Now if you excuse me, I’m going to find my uncle and give him a hug.

He’s a goof and he probably needs it.

enixriku:

I busted my ASS making all of these but it was so worth it. I tried making the theme the “Transcendence au” on the second photo, along with the backgrounds, and the other three icons in the third photo, but the rest just remind me of gravity falls!

mad skillz!

Sooooooooo I saw that pic of the deer with Henry’s antlers, and I came up with a headcanon: When the Woodsman is split from Henry, it can take the form of that deer to lure people deep into the forest and get lost in the trees.

OH MY FUCKING GOD YES

(only those who deserve his brand of justice though. Children lost in the woods sometimes find their way out led by a deer with branch like antlers, blue flames at the tips)

I’m working on something from Willow’s perspective. Can you give some tips on writing her, including how she reads auras?

Mod S here!

Willow sees people’s aura’s as kind of an overlay on top of them. So she sees what everyone sees-clothes, hair, that really massive pimple on that one guy’s chin, et cetera. But on top of that, almost like a fog around them, is their aura.

Willow keeps up mental shields around her that Dipper taught her when she was very little and that keeps her Sight in check most of the time. However, when she is tired, her mental shields can slip. Other times, an accidental bump or touch into someone will bring their aura blazing into her vision. And then there are some emotions or some people who blaze so brightly she can’t really block them from view.

There’s a reason Willow dreams in grey and black and white.

Other things that are good to know about Willow….

1. She does not like to ask for help. At all. Years of medical attention for her asthma and the persistent feeling that she gets babied by Acacia (and Hank a little bit) have left Willow bab with a bit of a chip on her shoulder. She is constantly determined to show that she can handle and take care of herself just fine. And ninety percent of the time she can!

However, the other ten percent of the time, when there is a wendigo tossing her against a tree and she feels a rib snap and she still won’t call for Uncle Dipper or try and shout out for one of her sibs to come help is when there’s a problem.

2. Reading auras and reading minds are not the same thing, but its enough for Willow to get some good guesses in. It is really handy for when she is raising her own children however.

3. Willow loves pistachio ice cream, writing with a quill tipped pen, and folk music. Willow does not like apples, classical music, or using pencils.

4. Remember that in addition to the Sight, Willow can also call blue fire to her and has an easier time using magic. Until she has Auriga, the biggest flame she can summon is no larger than her fist, and she mainly uses her flames in place of a flashlight, and to light candles. When she gets bored she usually summons a ball of flame to hand and plays with it, letting it track across her hand and weave in and out of her fingers. Also, every time she sneezes, despite her best efforts a little puff of flame will poof out of her mouth or nose. It’s a little embarrassing.

5. Acacia and Willow love to go out dancing, and when they are going to college at the University of Oregon, they spend almost every weekend at the Cowfish burning up the dance floor.

6. Willow’s guilty pleasure is eating a whole bag of puffy Cheetos in one go. More than once, Dipper or Mabel or Henry or someone else will come home to find Willow on the couch asleep, surrounded by two to three empty bags of Cheetos and her hands and face covered in orange Cheeto dust.

7. Willow’s temper isn’t as hot as Acacia’s, however, when she does get mad, Willow can have a very vindictive streak.
