Double points if it’s on accident because Dipper genuinely had no idea he could do that?

fun fact: in my astronomy class we were learning about double stars and Mizar and Alcor were used as examples of all the different types and I thought immediately of this AU! Apparently Mizar and Alcor are an optical double – they look close but just by chance, aren’t actually a binary. Mizar is a visual binary – we can see both of its stars in a telescope. AND each of those stars is a spectroscopic binary – they look like one star but spectroscopy shows they’re actually two stars. So Mizar is actually four stars, not just one! I just found that funny to think about, since Mizar appears to be one star to just your eyes but is really four stars, and then in this AU Mizar is one soul that actually has several different incarnations… (I was going to send this in an ask but it got too long)
If you guys are doing fic requests how about this one, a shapeshifting Mizar who can only shape-shift into previous Mizars and the people the people they knew.
Poor Martin.
He can comprehend the idea of shapeshifting, but like, changing exactly only into people he’s never met in his life? Is there a template in his genes for random features and clothing? Like what the hell?
Day 27: A rough drawing of my Changling Mizar as a child, before a bunch of things went horribly wrong. I want to make a prequel comic about them, but it might be too ambitious for my skill level. We’ll see.
Mabel sighed.
It wasn’t that Dipper DIDN’T want to go trick or treating with her.
On the contrary, if anything he was more excited this year than he had been in the past two.
Sure she had to talk him out of potentially turning bowls of “eyeballs” and “brains” into the real things, and they spent forty five minutes arguing if Dipper’s new look could count as his costume or not, but the point was, they were revved up and ready to go for some hot trick or treating action. They had even worked out a deal where Mabel would ‘sacrifice’ her candy to Dipper at the end of the night in exchange for him remaining solid (not that a floating trick or treat bucket wasn’t great but the rest of Piedmont wouldn’t think so). And if there happened to be a leftover bag of candy from a twin who suddenly disappeared, well, obviously Mabel would have to take care of that.
Then the sun rose on Halloween morning and-
Mabel looked up as Dipper plibbed into the room with an audible pop-and she knew he had to be tired, Dipper was still learning how to handle his new existence but he usually only ever made noise when he wanted to.
“That didn’t last long,” Mabel said, as she picked up another sequin to pin onto her mask.
Dipper looked horrible. His eyes were sunken in, and his yellow blood was closer to the surface of his skin than usual making him look sallow all over. His hands had twisted and gnarled, the fingers broken and curled up and around each other, the claws growing into his palms. Occasionally his skin would tear on his arms, his legs, his face and a bright golden eye would open up in a spray of blood, looking around madly before Dipper poked it back down into his body. Worse of all was his stomach, horribly distended like he had eaten three or four bowling balls. Mabel had put her ear to it at lunch and had to jerk away immediately because all she heard was screaming.
The problem wasn’t just that Halloween was turning out to be the one day in the year everyone and their grandmother and their grandmother’s sewing circle decided to try their hand at demon summoning.
No, it was that they kept giving Dipper thin-
No.
No Mabel.
Not things, she reminded herself.
People were sacrificing lives, sacrificing souls. And as miserable as Dipper was Mabel wasn’t stupid. She knew, knew there was a part of him screaming in joy for what he was being gifted.
Dipper looked up at her. "M҉a̧bel,͜ ̷y͏o͢u̧ s̶hǫųl̨d go ̵w҉ith҉o̶ut m͏è,̧" he rasped for the sixteenth time that afternoon.
(she had been counting, keeping track with a Sharpie on her arm where Dipper couldn’t see)
Mabel shook her head.
“Nuh-uh Broseidon. Either I go with you or not at all.”
Dipper scowled.
“̶Mab̢èl̵!̛ I̛.҉..̡ oh s͟h͠it̡, h̵ơl-͘"̡
He blipped out again before he could finish his thought, and Mabel continued to work on the mask she would most certainly not be wearing out tonight.
A knock at the door interrupted her, and a second later Mom’s head popped through the frame.
“Hey honey, if you can’t go out with D… with your bro-… if you can’t go out tonight, do you think you can help Mrs. Pfannstiel out?”
“Mrs. Pfannstiel?”
“She moved in next door while you… while you both were gone this summer. Her grandchildren are visiting but she doesn’t feel up to taking them out. Would you mind walking them around the neighborhood?”
Mabel hesitated. She shouldn’t abandon Dipper-
“You can bring your own sack too honey.” Mom paused, then chuckled a bit. “You know, your dad brought his own sack when he took you and Dipper out.”
Mabel had forgotten that.
She should wait for her brother.
She should stay home if he couldn’t go out with her.
She had also spent a solid month planning this harlequin costume. She hadn’t had a ton of candy in forever.
Dipper said it was fine.
“Okay. I’ll take them out.”
Mom smiled. “Thanks honey.”
(Some years Mabel went by herself. Some years Mabel borrowed someone’s kids. And of course, once she had her own she went with them. But Mabel never missed trick or treating for her entire life.)
Day 28: My young changing Mizar making a big mistake.
Melinda and the Gnomes 1/?
Hey everybody this is part one of a story inspired by a question asked by jaeger-bombastic-was-taken: What if, sometime in the future, a Mizar actually became the queen of the gnomes?Well this is how it happend and what Mizar did with it. Happy Birthday TAU!!!!
The woman raised the hood of her black robe over her head as she turned to look at her husband emerging from the door to the basement.
“Is everything ready,” she asked.
The man nodded grimly, “are we sure this is necessary?”
“I told you, you fool,” the woman snapped at him. “The greater the perceived sacrifice the greater the rewards. Why do you think I spent the last five sixths of a year getting this thing ready. Or did you imagine that I actually wanted a weight around our necks as we go about our lives.” She pushed passed him and made an impatient ‘Come on’ gesture.
“Okay,” the man said doubtfully. He raised the hood of his own robe, picked his month old daughter up off the couch, and followed his wife down into their candle lit basement.
……………………………
Alcor laid on his back in the Mystery Shack enjoying the peace and quiet. It had been about a year since he had been summoned by any sort of cult, and he was hopeful that people had finally realized that it was a really bad idea to worship demons.
Another reason he was enjoying the peace was the fact that he had just spent a week being bombarded by questions from Fords latest reincarnation. He was a scientist again, and he was studying magics effects on various chemical reactions. Ford had traded the hearing in his right ear for the answers to every question relevent to his research he could think of. Alcor had let himself be cheated on that particular deal, Ford did not realize it yet, but once he thought of more questions he’d simply have to ask.
Just then he felt the tug of an unusually powerful summons and let it take him.
Alcor emerged in a blaze of black fire. He looked around to find himself in a basement lit by three hundred blood scented candles arranged in careful circles around his perfectly drawn circle in the middle of the room. In front of him was a couple in their mid thirties, clad head to foot in thick black robes. The man seemed to be holding something behind his back.
Who Dares to Call Upon Alcor the DreamBender.
The woman stepped forward and raised her arms in supplication. “ Oh mighty Lord Alcor, Oh great and powerful Twin Star, my Husband and I beseech thee.”
Alcor frowned, Stop the fancy talk, just tell me what you desire.
“My Lord,” the woman continued, “we seek mystical power, power to dominate others, power to do as we choose. The Power to rule the world if we wish it!
Alcor sighed internally, he’d heard it all before.
“In return for this power we offer you our daughter Melinda, body and soul.” The woman gestured and her husband revealed what he’d been hidding:
It was a sleeping baby girl covered in arcane symbols, painted on her skin with what seemed to be Goats blood.
A baby.
But not just any baby.
It was Mizar
HIS MIZAR!
And these selfish fools offered him her life and soul, and their own daughter too.
“We have concieved, born, and prepared this baby just for you my lord, all so-“
SILENCE!!!!
The woman took a step back, her husband let out a whimper.
Do you know who this is!!!
“Our daughter, who we-”
This is my Mizar!!!!
The two gasped and try’d to run the husband tossing the sleeping baby at Alcor as he went. The Demon caught the baby, set her down than gave chase. He caught the woman at the top of the stairs and ripped out her heart. The husband almost made it to the front door when Alcor swept down on him from above, he skinned the man alive and left him there to die before returning to the basement.
Mizar had somehow slept peacefully through all the yelling and screaming, Alcor picked up the baby girl and gently rocked her, crying softly. “Oh Melinda, how could your own parents do this to you, he said removing the bloody symbols. Don’t worry my little Mizar, I’ll take you to someone who will look after you, and of course your big brother will always be there for you.
Cassie was living alone by a National Park this lifetime and desperately wanted a child. She would make a good mother. He took a quick look around the house only to find no baby things whatsoever. That horrible woman really had given birth just so that she’d have a good sacrifice.
With a snarl of disgust, Alcor took baby Melinda from that terrible house forever.
Mizar Moodboard
Missed a couple days, but here’s day 14 I guess.
Here, @bluefire7991 – you remember Max, yeah? See, I do have characters you know about. 😉
(Just Keep Breathing – We The Kings)
THE RETURN OF MAX
Headcanon: Dipper and Mabel Pines are autistic before the events of the Transcendence. Dipper’s inability to ‘people’ suddenly makes quite a bit of sense if you look at it from that angle, especially because other demons don’t seem to have that trouble. Also, I’m imagining someone, a researcher or scientist maybe, figuring out that Alcor and Mizar are autistic and just being like… “…How? does that work?”
