Our canon is extremely squishy and flexible. Most things people write or draw for the AU (and are subsequently put on the blog) can be considered pretty much canon due in part to the sheer length and breadth of time the AU covers, though sometimes details of these writings can shift into roughly ‘noncanon’ territory if the collective idea of canon comes to contradict them directly. Also, we have AUs of the AU which are not, strictly speaking, canon to the core story itself, which might be what you’re referring to. These tend to have specific names, like Drift AU for example, and we try to keep them tagged as such.
We have a Fic Masterlist here that you can explore, broken up into categories of time and characters. We can’t guarantee that every single link will work; some fics are linked to blogs that may or may not have been deleted in the interim. Basically, the only thing to do with this AU is to dive right in and start piecing it together. It’s one great big puzzle, this thing, divided into eras and marked by gradually developing concepts. An early fic might depict characters and concepts one way, while one written later might show another interpretation. Things do shift as they’re built up and developed.
Good luck out there!
