What do your TAU characters think of Alex Hirsh?

marypsue:

If you asked any of them this question, you would have to be prepared for a lot of blank looks that would only get blanker as you tried to explain that he was a famous animator, well, a reasonably well-known animator, back in the early 21st century, well, okay, the early 21st century in an alternate dimension, where all of them exist only as fictional characters based on characters in a fictional animated universe created by said reasonably well-known early-21st-century animator…

(Except for Ian. Ian would just grin wider and wider with every word you said and walk off laughing when you tried to explain he wasn’t even just a fictional character based on a fictional character created by Alex Hirsch, but that he was also based on Alex Hirsch himself…)

Did Ian die before Mira? Was Mira alive when Dipper found Toby?

marypsue:

To answer your first question, statistically he probably would but I’m not seeing it so I’m gonna say no. Because I am a big sad baby child, however, they go within a year of each other.

To answer your second question, no. There’s at least a five-year gap between the end of Ian’s lifetime and Dipper meeting Toby, and I imagine it’s probably longer. Dipper’s on his own again when he finds Toby.

Highlights from SGCC 3015

marypsue:

@alcor-has-the-tardis asked @definitelymizar: omg I just saw this year’s SGCC lineup and it says Ian’s gonna be there???!!! that’s so awesome!!! will you be going with him?

@definitelymizar replied: You couldn’t keep me away! Ian’s so excited I think his oversized head may actually explode all over the living room one of these days. (Seriously, though, he’s really proud, and we’re all really proud of him. We all knew that Mizar the Magnificent was going to be good, but to see all of you guys loving it as much as Ian and the team and I do has been amazing, and Ian getting invited to do a panel at Santa Grenda ComicCon is so much more than either of us ever expected. I’m getting a little teary just thinking about it. Hang on, gotta go blow my nose…)

Make sure you get your tickets early if you want to come see us, though, SGCC sells out fast!

Day One

“You’re not the real Mizar.”

after rrr how do dipper and ian get along?

marypsue:

In a word, carefully.

They’ve both helped each other, in a strange sort of way, and in an equally strange sort of way, they can each see a little of themselves in the other. And if nothing else, they have a common goal to make Mira’s life as long and as happy as it can be. Ian and Mira having kids adds another layer – suddenly there are niblings in the picture, and even when they’re unholy terrors, Dipper loves them almost as overwhelmingly as their parents do.

But he still can’t completely trust that Ian is safe, and Ian can’t help but agree.

What happens to Sun-Mi? She’s my favourite.

marypsue:

She wins a journalism award at twenty-three for her exposé of the atrocities going on underground at the former Edwards Air Force Base. She graduates top of her class with a double degree in sociology and investigative journalism, and goes on to write a series of pieces exposing anti-supernatural sentiment in New California and across the continental United States, and how the legacy of the pro-nat movement of the early 2000s still affects people in even the most supernatural-welcoming areas of the country. It sweeps every award it’s eligible for and lands her a grant to produce a documentary on supernatural rights worldwide. She spends the next thirty years of her life traveling the globe, interviewing people, learning about various cultures and making new friends, and totally not avoiding her friend Mira’s creepy husband.
