Singularity- Ch. 1

lanxborealis:

[AO3] [FF.net]

Since everyone else was doing an origin fic, I thought I’d give it a try.

He
was pulling. Pulling, pushing and burning.

Burning so
brightly; blue flames licking, tasting, enjoying his immortal
soul.

He also heard sharp, cold screams mixed with insane
laughter.

The laughter echoed inside him, mixing and
harmonizing perfectly with his shrill screams.

And he was
still burning.

If he could’ve heard over his own agony, over
the laughter, the tears, the screams, and cackle of fire, he would
have heard someone screaming for him. Shouting desperately at the top
of their lungs.

If he could’ve felt anything besides his very
essence tearing and burning, he would’ve felt the familiar grip of
hands around his shoulders, gripping him as hard as they could to try
and put him back together.

But he felt nothing from the
outside. Heard nothing from the outside. All he felt was in his mind-
no, his very soul. All he could feel was the flux of pushing,
pulling, and burning.

Burning bright. Burning out.

Then,
he saw.

He was a spark. Blue flames that did what he bid. He
was a wildfire; uncontrollably powerful. He was candlelight.
Soothing, calm. He was the flames licking the sides of bricks in a
fireplace, sharing warmth with those around him. He was fire.
Crackling, laughing, sobbing, furious fire that left nothing
unmarked.

He was change. In constant flux between the lines of
reality and dreams. Expectations and decisions.

What was he?
What was anyone? What was anything?

Questions filled his mind,
fast and furious. Yet, as fast as the questions came, there always
seemed to be an answer. An answer so obvious, he couldn’t believe he
hadn’t understood.

The questions and answers came faster.

He
burned ever brighter.

The screams got ever louder.

The
pushing and pulling came harder.

And then, laughter. Laughter
so familiar it hurt and then it stopped and then everything
hurt.

Hurt so horribly.

He wasn’t burning bright, but
fast. To fast. He was going to supernova. His body- vessel- meat bag
couldn’t handle the flames. The knowledge. Reality itself, in his
veins.

He let himself push harder. Pull harder, the motions
within his very soul.

There was screaming again. But not like
before. There was no coldness to it anymore. It was piercing.
Childlike. Metallic.

Agony in it’s purest, most vocal
form.

He then realized that it was him that was screaming. Him
that those sounds came from.

And he was still burning.

The Mirror on the Wall

oreramar:

A/N: More TAU. It is too easy to play with multiple dimensions and alternate realities in this universe. Also freaking out little human Dipper with an alter demon self is a little too much fun.

Of all
the wallspace covered by dials and lights and tiny dark screens, this was the
only expanse hidden under a tarp. Soos prodded at it, decided it probably
wouldn’t get him into any trouble, and pulled. The old material slid to the
floor amid a rising cloud of dust, revealing –

“Hey,
doods, check it out!”

“A
mirror?” Wendy came over and peered at her reflection. “Weird.”

Friend in Need

oreramar:

A/N: Not Pines Parents this time, but another underwritten character instead. Just a ficlet, and a fluffy one. Got to take a bit of a break after those last few angst-monsters.

The
nice thing about the friends-and-family summoning circle was that it asked
instead of demanded. It was a quick tug on the sleeve to get his attention, an
invitation, rather than the dizzying grab-and-yank most cultists seemed to
prefer.

Well, one of the nice things. Another nice
thing was that he was likelier to appear over a sacrificial bag of caramels
than some small creature with its guts torn out.

This
time Dipper popped into existence over a plate of previously uncooked hot dogs,
though they were split and sizzling now with the sudden heat of his arrival. If
that alone wasn’t enough to clue him in on the identity of his summoner, the
familiar darkened bedroom, incongruously lit by both the squat, mismatched
dollar store candles around the circle and by a glowing computer screen, would
have done it.

In Your Game For Two 3/5

Part One / Part Two / Part Three / Part Four / Part Five

on AO3

(A note: this fic was plotted and begun before s2e11 aired, and a few of its plot points no longer cooperate with canon. As such, please read this fic as diverging from canon after s2e10, Northwest Mansion Mystery!)

The clearing around the Mystery Shack was quiet when Mabel and Dipper rolled in – almost too quiet. No one was screaming or yelling, nothing more seemed to have exploded, and there was no sign of the thing that had crashed into the roof, except for the giant hole it had left. The Shack itself, once they crossed the porch and opened the door, was just as quiet. Nothing seemed to move, the hush almost oppressively loud. It was the kind of hush that made you almost want to whisper and tiptoe, just so you didn’t break it.

So, naturally, Mabel drew in a deep breath, cupped her hands around her mouth like a megaphone, and yelled “GRUNKLE STAAAAAAAN!” at the top of her lungs.

Mod M more like Mod “you’re killing me here”

….this was intended to be about the size of an ask but I just couldn’t stop. Oops >.>

A thought on the whole “Family can see Dipper then why not his Parents/Grunkle Stan/ Henry”

So the first thing to think about is human perception would be like a radio that can receive and send frequencies. Being on the corporeal plane is like having only a fm radio receiver/transmitter but being in the mindscape is like having an fm/am receiver but only being able to broadcast in am. Mindscape sees all but can only talk to mindscape, corporeal knows only corporeal

For Mable and Dipper because they’ve pretty much spent their entire lives together (up to this point) they have each others frequencies saved by default. When the transcendence happened and Dipper was taken into the mindscape Mable could still interact with him fully because while the he stopped broadcasting to the corporeal plane and other people cant see him, the twins were still broadcasting to each other outside of the am/fm dictations and could therefore still interact. (xm radio lol)

When it come to their parents, while I think they could have had the ability to see him, they had already accepted Dipper as dead by the time Mable had come home.(the mind is a powerful thing) While they were most definitely mourning and wished he was there, the logical side had already closed the connection to prevent further grief in order to stay sane. Dipper was broadcasting out, but they couldn’t receive it

For Grunkle Stan, Soos and Wendy let’s be honest, they absolutely are family but they’ve know each other for about 2~3 months, if that, considering the Transcendence happens right around “Gideon Rises” according to the AU cannon. Long enough to be total bros for life? Check. Long enough to create a bond that transcends the physical limitation of our mortal plane and override our normal senses? nnnnnnnot so much. And as long as we’re being honest here, I think part of Dipper didn’t WANT anyone to be able to see him at will, particular in the beginning when a certain triangles  mannerisms were still fresh in his mind and actions….

As for Henry he never NEEDED to interact with Dipper, Mable was the in between in the beginning and they eventually found a way to communicate as time passed, Henry and Dippers connection is a different station that doesn’t require sight/touch/sound/ect (which is why he sorta has spidey senses as to where Dipper is or what he’s up to)

The triplets get to interact with Dipper because he was there for them since before birth, saves Mable during child birth essentially saving them, and considers them his even more so than Henry’s or Mable’s. sooo yea, I think they have access to the right station…..

other notes:
people with the sight were born with/acquired a mindscape/spirit world receiver
when Alcor gains more power he can stay on the physical plane without a summons because he figures out how to change his frequency to match the corporeal world
