When Peridot and Steven sing “Peace and Love” i died of cuteness and all but deep inside i was thinking lol I guess peridot already knows all about music but being this a cartoon where everyone sings, it should be normal.
But watching and rewatching the whole scene, I noticed something….
she didn’t know anything. Steven taught her. RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT
SHE HAD TO HEAR THE NOTES ONCE AND SHE IMMEDIATELY LEARNED THEM ALL AND THEIR NAMES.
So basically Peridot learned to identify notes and chords in no more than 10 seconds which took ME one year and a half in music college.
NO IT’S NOT EASY YOU’RE JUST A FUCKING ART PRODIGY GO TO HELL
sometime, i notice that garnet acts more like ruby or more like sapphire.
like in love letters
when garnet says NO YOU DON”T to jamie, her visor is more red, she say this pretty sternly.
but when she gives her little speech about how jamie is a good actor, her tone is calmer, kinder. Her viser also changes color to be mostly blue with only the flash of heart broken jamie, when it comes back to her, the visor is different.
there was also in reformed, garnet answers amethyst very calmly, explaining that she followed the slinker through a tunnel. her visor is mostly blue when she speaks calmly.
see here, garnet gets more sassy and a little in amethyst’s face about the slinker. her tone is much stricter than a second ago and her visor is mostly red.
You know that’s actually my secret origin. Not a lot of people know this, but I was actually just a pun grown out of control. My father was understanding without laughing, and my mother was the death of modern comedy.
This was definitely one of my favorite lines from the whole episode. Like we know Pearl’s a damn good fighter, but this is more. Garnet (and likely all of Homeworld) viewed her not just as a threat, but as a terrifying one. Because Pearls are dolls. Pearls are decorative. Pearls are pretty little toys. Quiet, obedient accessories, and nothing more.
Not Rose Quartz’s Pearl, though. Not that one. That one fights.
And the idea that a gem can defect from who she was made to be–that is terrifying to Homeworld.
