They met their freshman year at Oregon State in Intro to Biology. She thought he was tall and gawky! He thought she was way too cool for him! They were assigned to dissect a piglet together and he accidentally squirted blood on her face!
(Vivi loves to tell this store. Hank, not so much)

Reading the Transcendence AU and loving it, especially the Hank and his supernatural mafia stories. But where are the Mafia princess bits, where the daughter is going to public school and everyone freaks out. Or where an entire mall is on watch because Vivi and her kids walked in. Just stories without Don Pines in it, but his influence is felt.
prompt: dipper and lucy ann’s shenanigans through the ages as immortal bros who died too young. bonus points if it involves dipper masquerading as lucy ann’s caretaker despite the fact that she’s like 4000 years older than him for things like getting into r rated movies or buying alcohol.
The diminuitive figure in a cape looked up as he approached. To any one else the figure looked like a little girl, her cape a remnant from a costume from Halloween last.
But Dipper Pines knew better.
Lucy Ann perked up at the sight of him, but then her expression turned into a frown.
“What the fuck dude?”
Dipper raised an eyebrow at her.
She waved a hand at him, ballcap and vest and cargo shorts. “You’re in your civvies.”
Dipper scowled, and shrugged off his backpack. “Well, I can’t exactly go in the liquor store looking like-” a flash of wings and fire, flame and fury “-myself.” He pulled out a large paper bag and Lucy Ann’s eyes, already glowing in the dark like a cat, grew brighter.
“Sweet.”
He came up next to her and handed her the paper sack. She began to dig eagerly through it.
“Rum, vodka, more rum, that honey stuff I like. Fuck hot damn Al, you came through.”
“We ̷h͞ad͡ a ͡dea͝l,” he tersely pointed out. He know she didn’t mean it like that. But the side of him that lived on deals, the side that felt the keenness of reputation and promises kept or broken, that side considered her words an insult.
She bared her fangs at him in a grin, half apology, half not.
“Drink with me?” she asked.
“Here?” Here being the dumpster behind this piece of shit liquor store in-
“Ohio? What are you doing all the way out here?”
She say down and leaned against the dumpster, and despite the grating of the stench against his nose, Dipper did the same.
He looked over at her. “They miss you, you know?”
Lucy Ann said nothing, only uncorked the larger of the rum bottles. She looked at him pointedly.
Dipper sighed, and then bit hard on his index finger, bringing shimmering gold blood to the surface as tooth broke skin. Lucy Ann proffered the bottle, and he held the cut over the opening, letting blood drip into the bottle and turn the rum cloudy.
She nodded in thanks, and proceeded to chug half the bottle, finishing off with a spectacular burp.
“Fuck I needed that. Thanks Alcor.” She looked dolefully at the bottle. “It’d be so much easier if I could use my own blood but noooooo.”
He looked at Lucy Ann, really looked at her. There were twigs and leaves in her little afro puffs, and dirt under her nails. Her cloak (the one Mabel had made her) was dirty and worn, though he noticed that every tear and rip was meticulously repaired. She smelt like old blood, like death and rot.
She had the body of a five year old and needed him to buy alcohol for her and sneak her into her favorite movies and she was a thousand miles away from the home she had kept for almost a century.
He wanted to ask her.
He wanted to tell her, tell her that Linden and Hazel were worried sick, that Rowan and Myrtle had made noises about tracking her down.
He looked into Lucy Ann’s eyes, saw Vivi, saw Hank being lowered into the ground, saw the increasing amount of grey hairs on his nibling’s heads, on the heads of her godchildren.
He looked at her, opened his mouth, and asked “How did you figure out that blood trick.”
Lucy Ann blinked, killed the bottle, and said, “I’ll tell you over breakfast?”
“Do I have to do the blood thing with the syrup bottle?”
“Well I’m not going to fucking sit there and watch you enjoy pancakes without something else so yes, you will.”
Dipper smiled.
“It’s a deal.”
Fic: Don Pines for Mayor
http://archiveofourown.org/works/6219718
Summary:
To be fair, when the Portland Flotsam had published the article about Don Pines running for mayor, they had intended it as a satire on the quality of the candidates that were actually running for election. They did not anticipate the sheer number of people who took it to mean that Portland’s local mob boss was seeking municipal office.
The large banner that was strung up outside their offices declaring support for Hank Pines as Mayor of Portland came as a complete surprise. It was the first they had heard that Hank Pines was actually in the running to become Mayor.
It also how Hank Pines himself became aware of this fact.
you work for the campus radio station and keep dedicating songs to me
Hank was talking out a glitch he kept running into in his program to his trusty rubber duck, Edward Quackhands, when a familiar voice interrupted his thoughts from the radio.
A husky, sultry voice, purred and poured from the speakers.
“Hello lovelies, it’s 11pm, and you know what that means.”
Hank smiled.
“It’s time for Rockabilly Revival, with your host Vivacious Vi.” A pause. “Which is me, as no doubt you surely all guessed.”
He could hear the fumble of cd’s being put into the ancient player, and then Vi’s voice again.
“This first song goes out to my one, my only-”
Hank blushed.
“-the one I hold above all else. Here’s “Dirty Dishes and Dirtier Water” by Rever-”
Hank turned around. The sink was rather full.
Oops.
I was thinking about writing something about Hank’s children Rowan, Myrtle, and Linden, do they have a set personality and character design yet? I know the twins argue a lot and Rowan is similar to his dad, but there isn’t much in their tags.
Hello, Mod S here!
To be honest, I haven’t thought much about Hank’s babs myself outside of this initial post. Hopefully I can flesh them out a little more for you!
- Hazel Marie Adhara
- aka the kid that totally founds a mafia in Las Vegas ON ACCIDENT GUYS OMG STOPPIT
- Is a tall, redheaded version of Vivi. Not as tall as her aunts or cousins though, which causes some grief at weekly dinners and family reunions. (The same goes for her sibs)
- Takes a lot after Hank in that she is good with people, scary good with words, and loves going to town on a punching bag.
- Very much a little mom to her little siblings. Has an overwhelming sense of responsibility to everyone around her, to the point where her friends and family have to practically tie her down in order to get her to relax.
- Loves long skirts and boleros and floppy hats
- the hats are useful in Nevada. The boleros not so much
- Adhara
- Rowan Edward Perseus
- At one point Dipper thinks that every generation of the Pines seems to throw out an artist. Mabel was an artist, Acacia was an artist, and this generation it was Nito and Rowan. Though unlike Nito, Rowan tended towards yarn bombing and fabric art.
- Rowan, trying to explain to his father the witch why he covered the White Stag in rainbow yarn.
- Rowan and all his siblings are just so serious and he wants them to lighten up but at the same time he feels out of place because he’s so… so goofy and they’re not and-
- GamGam who takes him aside and lets Rowan know that he’s fine the way he is
- LBR Rowan dresses like a total fucking hipster.
- Perseus
- Myrtle Christine Vela
- Twin of Linden, and has the Sight.
- Myrtle tends more towards empathy like her Aunt Willow
- Myrtle has Vivi’s looks but Hank’s height, to the point that of the four she is the tallest.
- and like her mom she is a total rockabilly babe.
- While both of the twins have hot tempers, Myrtle’s is hotter. Of Hank and Vivi’s four kids, she is the one that Hank has the most parent-teacher conferences about.
- She’s great at chess, which is odd since she has little patience for actual people.
- If she and Linden are the kids that get in the most trouble, she’s the one that provides the reason for the pranks she and her twin pull.
- Don’t call her “Myr” or “Mir.” Seriously don’t.
- Vela
- Linden Henry Etamin
- Twin of Myrtle and like Myrtle has the Sight.
- Unlike Myrtle, Linden sees more of the Little Folk, the people that even post-Transcendence don’t usually appear to the unSighted eye.
- He gets along great with them
- Of the four siblings, Linden looks the most like Hank and the least like Vivi, except for his eyes and his black hair (hair which is still a curl bomb)
- He argues with his twin about everything. Everything. And yet he insists on having all of his classes with her, sits next to her. (Grunkle Dipper understands.)
- If he and Myrtle are the kids that get in the most trouble, he’s the one that provides the logistics for the pranks he and his twin pull.
- Don’t call him “Lyn” or “Lin.” Seriously don’t.
- Etamin
Hello! I’ve got a long art project planned for the TAU, but I’ve gotta know a few things and I’m hoping someone has the answers out there.
1) What do Mark and Anna Pines look like?
2) What do Vivi and Reina look like? This also goes for style choices.
3) What’re the style choices for the triplets? I feel like this one has already been answered, but if there’s a link out there, can you please point me in its direction?
I think that’s all for now! Thank you!
Mod S here!
1. Honestly have no idea for Mark and Anna; I’m going to assume that they look like Dipper and Mabel lol! (So they’re entirely open for interpretation)
2. Vivi is Chinese-American and is a Rockabilly Queen. Reina is Afro-Latina and looks like Zoe Saldaña. I hadn’t really thought much about fashion for her so have fun with Reina!
3. Acacia LOVES formal wear; vests, ties and bow ties and collared shirts, a nice skirt. Hank wears a tshirt, jeans, and flannel; usually the same five until they fall apart. Vivi and Lucy Ann have taken to burning his old clothes and silently replacing them with new ones. Willow wears massive oversized sweaters (a la Mabel!) and patterned leggings with Docs.
Hope this helps!
Question: Has Vivi ever experienced any fallout from her association with Hank? Not just people targeting her trying to get at Don Pines, but things like people pulling their kids from her kindergarten class because their afraid they might get caught in mafia crossfire, etc.
Yes. She eventually teaches at three different schools because of this. Most of the time she’s saved career-wise by the fact that she is a damn good teacher, the kids love her….and that there seem to be a lot of trolls and ogres that go dog walking around the school she’s working at.
Crack Prompt: Vivi’s parents are actually triad bosses from Hong Kong. Hank has absolutely no idea. (Vivi knows her parents are up to shady stuff, she also has no idea how deep it truly goes.) Vivi’s parents for their part absolutely do not believe the rumors that Hank is the master of the Portland Mafia. So family get-togethers somehow turn out completely normal. The FBI meanwhile are freaking out because they think Hank has a marriage alliance with the triads and has international ambitions.
Mod S here!
So on one hand, in my mind, Vivi is a third generation American from San Diego, whose parents generally view Hank and his family’s shenanigans with bemused patience and confusion. (Also they’re dentists. Both of them. Hank and Vivi’s kids never get a cavity.)
Otoh this is fucking great and I love it someone please do the thing.
Best Served with Gnomes
Here’s another story on the shenanigans Hank and his Supernatural Mafia get up to. Story can be found on AO3 under this link: http://archiveofourown.org/works/5696233
It is generally considered very unwise to claim you’re good friends with the local mob boss, especially when, in truth, you have never met said mob boss before in your life. As one local idiot would find out, it was an even worse idea to make such a claim straight to said mob boss’s face. No matter how unintentionally.
Hank for his part would learn that wild destructive parties were fun to plan, when it wasn’t going to be your house that was trashed. That getting in contact with every gnome troop in Oregon was easier than one would first assume. And that in matters of revenge, sometimes simply killing someone, was simply not enough.
