How did the sight start? Did it start with Mabel? Did certain people just kind of… get the sight after the Transcendence?

Mostly certain people just kind of got the Sight.

It was rare. Very rare. Its appearance didn’t even necessarily follow any hard and fast rules or patterns, either, though there may have been a correlation between its development and surprisingly close supernatural experiences during, after, or even before the Transcendence. It also came (comes) in different strengths and flavors, so it would be extremely hard to document as well, and as time went on people found that it might be inherited in family lines, or else it might vanish entirely or appear out of nowhere instead.

Basically it is and was practically impossible to predict.

Bioplastic organisms compatible with the ‘normal’ food chain. Living plastic filter feeders. Bioplastic animals & plants. Imagine how successful snails that could eat plastic bottles and other underwater trash would be.

Crabs with metal shells, animals that have evolved to eat rust and tiny plastic flakes. Animals that communicate in radio waves.

Imagine some songbirds are hanging around and whenever you turn the radio on you can’t hear your station over all the chirping.

Kiss your underwater cables and pipes goodbye.

A couple of hundred years in the future Dipper carves Mables face into mountain. Partly because his worried about forgetting her face, partly because he thinks she’d approve and partly because his really high. the carving itself becomes kind of legendary as no one but Dipper knows where it came from as far as the wider world in concerned it just appear one day out of nowhere not impossible Post-Transcendence admittedly but still an mystery.

transcendence-au:

Another mystery: how is it that rock- you know, rock– became imbued to the molecular level with glitter

chacw: Plot twist: all of the near by mountains when they get destroyed they go up in massive clouds of rainbow glitter. It becomes a tradition to take a small stone from a near by mountain and smash it on your 18th birthday.

Has Alcor ever met Rick? I’m pretty sure it’s canonically possible, but I’ve never seen a fic or art where it happens.

It’s less canonically possible than you might think.

Sure, in that show they can jump dimensions. But in this AU, dimensions cannot be so easily jumped. Doing so weakens the walls between them, so nobody in any dimension in this AU can or will do this willy-nilly, or else they’d leave entire realities in tattered messes.

So in this AU, it’s pretty canonically established that realities aren’t jumped. They can be glimpsed and perused if something has the power. Something with that power *could* hop across and back again, but there would be risks and consequences for it, so stuff generally doesn’t.

So yeah, we don’t do any crossovers in actual TAU canon for this reason, so you won’t see any fic or art for it on this blog, but you guys can always do this stuff and put it on the tag or on AO3.

In the future the city of Gravity Fall becomes the statistically safest city in America. You physically can’t summon any demon besides Alcor and the various branches of the Pines Mob family consider it neutral ground and woe be tide anyone who violates that. which results in the crime rates being really low for a city it’s size of course your risk of spontaneously developing tentacles or something is way higher but plenty of people view that as a fair trade off.

What is it like in the most barren places in the world post-Transcendence (like Antarctica)? Are they teeming with previously-unknown magical creatures and intense magic-storms and who knows what else, or are they just about the only places on Earth without any magic at all?

All the world has magic. Some rare places are simply more magical than others. Even rarer are those with magic too strong to bear by any living creature. Those who stay too long become unrecognizable and one with the land, or the sea, or the sky.

historian’s separate fact from myth and they don’t always get it right remember both Troy and Pompei where widely considered not to exist till they where found by archaeologists. How does this affect things in TAU

The exact location of the original Stanley Pines Memorial Library becomes lost for a few centuries. Rather, there’s whatever incarnation is currently around, but not only has the forest grown, the town boundaries of Gravity Falls itself changes over time. Buildings collapse, papers burn, servers crash.

(Dipper is there for the archaeological dig they do when the site is eventually rediscovered. One of the diggers finds an old Barbie doll missing an arm and with half it’s hair cut off, and Dipper holds it in his hands, and remembers when three small redheads decided to have a spa day with all of their dolls…

It disappears offsite and never makes it to the lab)
