I’m sorry if this is on a FAQ but I’m on mobile so I gotta ask, what is the Transcendence AU? It looks hella interesting but I’m so lost. Is there a place were a newbie can start?

mod c apologizes for falling super behind on updating that… but i can tell you that i got through 30 pages of fic starting from the beginning of the ‘fic’ tag when compiling the guide, so if you run out of stuff to read from that page and don’t mind an (enormous) archive binge, you can just continue where i left off by just reading everything everyone has written for this au in the order it was posted:

Pt1 How tall is Dipper, usually? I imagine that as a demon, he can change his shape whenever and however, but what forms does he choose? Does he let Mabel keep her honorary extra millimeter? If so, then that puts him at a cutie 5’1″ minus 1 mm tall and that’s pretty short considering his demonic visage and grand entries and whatnot. Does he make himself taller during his initial summons, when he was concerned with appearances, then revert back to Mabel height when he’s hanging about the family?

Pt2 also, in the Friends w/ Tax Benefits AU, he uses Henry as a guide on aging, right? Does his height still match up with Mabel’s (if she were still alive)? Does he continue to be a teeny 5’1” Pines kid? (actually, on second thought, I may have gotten Mabel’s height wrong. ah well.)
Because just imagine that Henry holds his husband on one of the few
occasions he’s actually standing on the ground. His arms wrap around him
and all he can see from this angle is a head of slightly curly brown
hair

Pt3 and it feels so familiar, but it’s so different at the same time. (speaking of which, maybe there could be a physical descriptions
section/version of the bios page? i found out that vivi is the one
that’s 5’1”, and am currently clueless as to how tall Mabel is, aside
from “really small compared to her beanpole husband.”)

All of this is excellent!!!  Personally, I see Dipper as still being a shortie short (compared to Henry anyway), but not as short as Mabel’s 5’0. He usually sticks around 5’8-5’9, which is the height he would have been had the Transcendence not happened. I mean, he could make himself taller, but that would be pushing it, also Mabel would give him so much shit like you don’t even know.

(“Of course,” Dipper thought to himself one day seeing Henry duck to come into the Shack, “Mabel would marry a giant.”)As for summons, you bet your sweet ass Dipper changes his height if he wants to be intimidating. Of course, there is that one time he comes home when he and Mabel are 19 and he’s still seven feet and Mabel proceeds to laugh so hard that she cries and Dipper may or may not pout the rest of the day.

In Friends With Tax Benefits, Dipper is still 5’8/5’9….which is still a foot shorter than his husband the moose. Also OMG YES HENRY GIVING SHORTY DIPPER HUGS LET ME LOVE YOUUUU.

Are all of Willow’s children that she adopts automatically a Pines?

Yes, in that they she considers them her children and she their mom, they eventually can see Dipper like blood relations can, and Dipper gives them their own star names.

No, in that some of the Pleiades choose to change their last names to Pines, and others keep theirs. Its up to each child individually, and Willow doesn’t mind or push either way. Willow’s kids Annie and Rob, for example, still kept their last name of Carter.
