Being the sort of person I am I tried to get all the points in one.

Her Ambiance was acting up but Amanda still had a good feeling about tonight.
“You’re the only person I know who’d sneak out to go to a classical music concert,” said Senica.
She crumped her program in her lap. “Grandma knows I’m with you. She’s just fuzzy on the details of where.”
It was a lovely where. Each sound was carried in all directions and the angels painted on the ceiling seemed to be twisting themselves down to the audience, desperate to hear more. Still Seneca teased. “I don’t think your Grandma would be happy to know you’re out on a school night to see a bo-oy-”
“Shh!” Amanda bopped her bestie on the nose. “I am totally here for the art.”
Before Senica could blow a raspberry back the lights dimmed and the duo was left in a loop of ‘shh’, ‘you shush’, and then finally the show began with a booming voice in everyone’s ears. With the lightest touch of Magic the words flitted across her eyelids as well.
“Introducing… for one night only… the great, the stupendous, prodigy… BOYCE BONIFACE.”
The singular spotlight illuminated a boy in a light blue tuxedo. He bowed in either direction before bringing the violin to his chin with a wicked grin.

I was brainstorming what to write for this nerd, and not only did I accomplish almost nothing, I successfully distracted myself for way too much time while working on this!
(Efriam is supposed to be made up of fire, smoke, and eyeballs, which led to some interesting lighting that I’m not 100% sure I drew correctly, but oh well)
Three questions: 1) Do Pacifica or Robbie have any reincarnations? 2) Is Toby in the Transdimensional Arc or not? 3) WHY ARE ALL THE AU’S OF THIS AU SO FREAKING DEPRESSING?!
1) We have Atlas, an r!Pacifica, and Atlantica enjoyed a very brief vogue, and once upon a time there was a futuristic soldier r!Robbie drabble which Mod O cannot now find, plus this nameless one, and maybe some others we can’t recall…but otherwise we don’t have much for either Pacificia or Robbie as reincarnations, most likely due to minor-character-syndrome among fic writers. We do welcome more fic about these forgotten ones. 🙂
2) Original Transdimensional arc – no, no Toby there. Original Transdim involves Alcor alone intentionally traversing dimensions for the very important reason of thwarting another, more extreme and vicious Bill Cipher’s plans for the universe. He doesn’t dimension hop much otherwise.
The Toby variant you have likely seen started out as a vague suggestion: Toby falling through a mysterious dimensional rift by accident, Alcor initially considering just leaving him wherever he ended up (no more Bill soul!) and then just sighing and following him through because no, no he can’t do that. Freaking kid.
It then snowballed somewhat, leading to the idea that the dimension Toby fell into was essentially that of Transdimensional arc, simply for the enjoyment of Toby as well as Alcor interacting with regular Dipper and Mabel and co. with the added bonus of Bill finding out about a very interesting new soul from another universe – a new soul which (kind of, sort of) is his own.
So in a way, we have two Transdimensional arcs, one of which is sort of a Toby AU arc?
And 3) Honestly, TAU itself has its depressing undercurrents tied directly into its core precept (i.e. Dipper becomes an immortal demon), so it’s not too much of a surprise that its AUs would continue that trend if not worsen it in some way or other. But Daemon AU is pretty much fun with fluffy animals added on (and we even went with the variant where Dipper keeps his Daemon instead of destroying it – you’re welcome!), so there’s that at least!
Also in the way of reincarnations, someone we overlooked but whom we were reminded of in the inbox is Ari Nell, an r!Robbie. You can find info and fic about them here (though there also appears to be an r!Mabel named Ari in the tag which is a tad confusing, but c’est la vie)
since i haven’t really seen anything about transcendence au robbie, i’d like to propose: robbie as a demonologist
robbie accidentally being part of the preternatural group at his college
dipper dropping by robbie’s classes to ruthlessly mock the professors
the professors being a little worried about how calm that valentino boy is about demons
some idiot tries to summon dipper at a major event, half the student body sees professor valentino calling alcor the freaking dreambender dude and not getting killed

Mabel had passed
‘pissed off’ a few miles back and now was seething, occasionally
tugging at her bonds. Bad enough these wacknuts had probably ruined
her sweater – it was a cult thing, she’d lost more sweaters to that
then she wanted to remember – and that they’d threatened her to
make her bro-bro listen to them, but they’d threatened her kids!Okay, four out of
five (because Reina was so one of hers now) since Hank and Vivi (who
was also now hers) were still safe in Portland, but that was low. And
as soon as any of the Pines got free, they were going to pay for
that.She hadn’t seen or
heard anything from Dipper or Willow in hours, and she was pretty
sure by this point it wasn’t just because she and Henry and the other
kids were being threatened.The link between
her and Dipper went both ways, even if it wasn’t as strong from him
to her she could still feel him, and he was scared.
Dipper wasn’t supposed to be scared, he was too powerful for that and
still her dorky brother and she was the only one allowed to terrorize
him!Okay, Stan and her husband and the kids could, but they were family.
Oh, and Wendy and Paz and Soos, but they were pretty much family. So
only family was allowed. Not these…religious fanatic nutjobs.And especially not Gideon. Fucking Gideon.
Dumb TAU fics I’ll probably never write:
- The 1st person narrative where Wendy goes to Portland and solves a mystery nobody actually wanted solved. Robbie hides from people who want him for realzies dead by joining a folk band and growing a large mustache. It wouldn’t end with her death but it would explain why there are creatures out there who want it.
- The trio of Lady Knights ‘founded’ by Candy who wear armour in the style of the Journals and walk people home at night when it’s dangerous. Also double as supernatural geek squad.
- The fic where Dipper ends up inserting himself into the life of a young newlywed couple because it’s much easier to offer the Selkie who lost her skin unsolicited advice than to admitted to your niblets and grandniblets that you’re scared to meet the reincarnation of your own sister.
- Mermando tries to negotiate sea peace.
- The one where a Mizar takes Dipper to an SCA style festival for the Pre-Transcendence 2000s and he spends the whole time eating cotten candy and yelling about historical inaccuracy until a Time Paradox Unit attempts to arrest him for running their vacation to the past.
Why is Robbie abused so much in this AU? Can’t there be one AU where terrible things don’t happen to him? I’m so dick and tired of all the Robbie hate out there. You know it makes being part of a fandom absolutely no fun at all when your favorite character is trashed on constantly in every blog and every fanfiction and au and fanart ect. It’s just sad you guys couldn’t find anything better to do with him but make him a punching bag as usual. I watched this au thinking I’d see better for him. :(
Mod Z here! I’m not sure why you’re asking us in particular, since nearly all headcanons/stories involving Robbie are produced by fans of the AU.
If you look at our bios page, the TAU has actually canonically depicted him in a positive light. He doesn’t lose his snark, nor does he stop teasing the twins and bickering with Dipper, but he’s not very good at hiding the fact that he cares about his weird little town and all the weird people in it. In the end, Robbie is someone who the Pines (and all the other GF residents) can count on being there to support them as best he can. You don’t exactly go through a near-apocalyptic scenario with someone and not form a bond of trust with them!
If you’d like to see more fanfics that write Robbie in such a manner, you can certainly write it yourself! Unfortunately, all us mods can do is say “hey, this is our canon depiction”, and whether or not the fans want to write it is up to them (take a look at Mabel and Dipper’s parents – there are many fans who write them in a far more negative light than we’ve established them; but again, that’s fanwork!). I would also personally love to see at least a fic or two of Robbie being more accepting of the twins, especially considering he’s probably pretty cool with Mabel already thanks to the Love God episode – and just the fact that he’ll have to eventually grow out of that stubborn teen phase of his.
HC: Soos and Robbie both have the Sight before the transcendence. Soos has a small amount of foresight, making him seem extremely lucky. Robbie can kind of see ghosts and spirits, contributing to his on-edge attitude and awareness of the wierd things going on in Gravity Falls.
