oreramar:

HC: Toby is a cuddler. He will reach out and latch onto whatever he can get his arms around in sleep, and he won’t let go easily. Sometimes he’ll fall asleep on the couch in the middle of a movie, and the nearest thing will be Dipper’s arm. Dipper allows this simply because prying him off would just be a pain in the neck, of course.

lollipopdemon:

This is what happens when you stay up too late in the Transcendence AU chat.

(based off this, the kid’s supposed to be Toby fyi)

Alcor: I finished all your blood tests, and I’m happy to say you’re perfectly fine

Alcor: Now I hope this finally convinces you that I’m not a bad doctor!

Alcor: Anyway, here’s your blood back.

After Bridget and Toby get married, do they have any kids before Toby dies? Sorry, I can’t help but love the idea of them having kids (or one kid). Like, imagine a little blonde haired girl calling Alcor “Granddad” and hanging out with Aunt Maddie (who isn’t much older her). I also imagine that their kid would be quite the fighter, perhaps going on summons with Alcor when she’s older. Also, Toby would make an awesome dad, but it would be sad, seeing as though she probably would grow up with him.

Toby and Bridget never marry, actually. Best Friends Forever, sure, but Toby…isn’t exactly the relationship type, in general.

HOWEVER we can totally see him taking in some luckless orphans. They remind him of himself, all those years ago, and he would want to sort of…pay forward all the good things that Alcor gave him: stability, safety, care and love (even if the demon did try to hide and deny the last…).

They’d call Alcor Grandrone, a callback to tiny Toby’s in-public “Dadrone” title for Alcor. The demon enjoys it even if he tries to pretend otherwise.

And then Toby dies somewhere in his thirties or so. Maddie is a teen, only so many years away from leaving home for college and the greater world beyond, and suddenly Alcor finds himself with more young orphaned children to care for.

Honestly, this is probably good for him.

This was too long for the Ask Box

I have two questions about Toby (because he is by far the best character in this AU). What does Toby call Alcor when his friends are over or he’s out in public. He obviously can’t call him “Alcor” but it’s shown that “Dad” isn’t the proper term either. Mr. Pines or Tyrone seems odd as well. So…any ideas?

Also, Alcor always seems worried (even if it’s just used as an excuse) that Toby is going to turn out to be an evil super villain with Bill’s powers, but could this actually happen? Not that he would turn evil, but that he might get some sort of Bill powers. Like, Maddie or his friends are in danger or about to die and something just happens and Toby saves them using demon powers (and Alcor freaks out). The powers wouldn’t be stable of course, leaving as fast as they appeared, but it would make an epic story. Could something like that happen, though?

First question: They sort of try both, alternating from one to the other in different situations. Any discrepancy is of course explainable by the adoption – people will understand, of course, that “Dad” might seem a little awkward this early in their relationship, but “Tyrone” is perhaps a little too…informal? Personal? Something like that. So anyhow, at some point or other Toby’s poor tongue gets confused and suddenly “Dadrone” slips out.

It sticks.

Alcor hates it, naturally, but whatever might as well let it slip no seriously it’s terrible but it could probably be so much worse…

Second question: nah, no demon powers. About as close as Toby actually gets is a weak version of the Sight which only allows him to see those emotions considered ‘negative.’ Past lives or no, Toby is completely and utterly human.

arcaneadagio:

[AA/N] i swear i’m gonna write more psychic singularity but i really like anything with more dimensions stuff and aus, so the transdimensional arc is like, one of my favorite things. also toby is there because that just amps up the awkwardness and hilarity.

Since it’s partially in the future mailboxes are totally irrelevant so Toby doesn’t know what a mailbox is.

TAU characters and MBTI types

So, Mod O is a huge dork who actually sat down one day and did some in-depth reading on MBTI types and thought through some character analysis for them. She then sat on this information for ages, until a post called “MBTI under pressure” crossed her dash and she realized how perfect (and sometimes hilarious) many of the connections were.

As a bonus, “MBTI as Dragons” came up soon after, so here’s a small (very small!) selection of TAU characters with their theorized types and list results…

(Quick disclaimer: types were chosen with depth in mind, whereas lists do tend to simplify toward a single easily-remembered surface trait. Take with humor and perhaps a grain of salt.)

Dipper: INTJ

Under pressure:

you could not possibly expect me to work around you insolent apes my mind is an idiot free zone
everyone other than me must leave

Dragon: A dragon with a large horde of its own, like Smaug. Can probably also speak.

Mabel: ESFP

Under Pressure: *eats ten gallons of ice cream* if i ignore it it’ll go away

Dragon: The kind of dragon who spits fireballs like fireworks and entertains villagers (occasionally accidentally incinerates a few).

Henry: ISTJ

Under Pressure: just sTOP MESSING WITH SHIT

Dragon: A dragon who guards a castle.

Acacia, Stan: ESTP

Under Pressure: *injects themselves with adrenaline* fight me

Dragon: The kind of dragon who randomly attacks villages and peasants, a la Trogdor the Burninator.

Hank: ENFJ

Under Pressure: i must do all the things and meet all the needs of everyone on the planet because they need – *dies of malnutrition/dehydration/exhaustion*

Dragon: The leader of a pack of benevolent dragons.

Willow: INFJ

Under Pressure:

*emotional breakdown*

Dragon:

A dragon who flies across oceans alone, and is nocturnal. Rarely seen, not because it doesn’t exist, but because it prefers being alone.

Toby, Bentley: ISFJ

Under Pressure:

*starts vibrating* i’m totally calm *shakes violently* the picture of serenity *causes earthquake* the most tranquil person on earth

Dragon:

The kind of dragon who works with humans and helps them do useful tasks.

Bonus: check out the mythological creature types (and their lengthy descriptions, which is why they aren’t just copy/pasted) in this post here! There’s some really interesting parallels and portrayals to be had.
