Okay, this idea didn’t want to become a full-blown fic, but I felt it should be written down in some form anyway.

Alcor: What is that?

Toby: Um…last week our teacher had us draw pictures of…ofourdads OR any other important adult in our lives!  We just got them back for…for Father’s Day…to give to our…um…yeah.

Alcor: …

Toby: I…I made sure to draw you as Tyrone, not Alcor…  Uh, but I drew you inside a star, see, like you turn into sometimes; y’know, just as a private thing that no one else will get…

Alcor: …

Toby: And that’s…that’s me next to you…‘cause Mr. Brown said we should draw ourselves with our da- whoever we decided to draw…

Alcor: …

Toby: If…if you don’t want it, I…I can just throw it away, it’s no problem…

Alcor: …No, that would look bad.  Draw unwanted attention…  I’m supposed to be seen as your parent, after all.  Pretty sure not keeping it would make me look like a bad caretaker.  Let’s see, what do humans do with this kind of thing?  Here, we’ll put it on the fridge, people do that, right?  There we go.  Perfect.  My cover is secure.

Toby: Uh…  No one would know if you just decided not to keep it…

Alcor: MY COVER IS SECURE.

A Bit Too Familiar

zendria:

Type: Gravity Falls/Transcendence AU

Word Count: ~1700

Summary: Dipper goes to a play about supernatural
safety at Toby’s school.

(Transcendence AU. Not sure how close to canon this
is – I can’t get to Toby’s bio as of right now – but when
this idea occurred to me, I just had to write it out.)

Dipper was still twitchy when it came to Toby. Sure,
he was a teenager now, old enough to keep himself out of trouble, and
he was living in the house Alcor had provided, having long since
gotten off the streets – but the seemingly bottomless well of bad
luck from which he was constantly drawing made Dipper more than a
little anxious about his well-being.

Hence, when Toby called him, he was there in a
flash, regardless of how urgent it was.

YASSSSSSSSSS

Alcor raising Toby is adorable and all but where does he get the money? Swipe some cash from the cultists? Beg Jim for money? Did he even get any inheritance from Stan or Mabel?

He does a combination of striking deals and using his own power to attain things fit for raising a human child. He can conjure some things
on his own without any outside help, but for the things he can’t quite accomplish on his own, he can pretty easily use any hapless summoner.

He does his best to not pester any relatives or friends (especially in Toby’s case), but eeevery once and a while he’ll contact someone he knows he can trust for an extra hand.

what’s the timeline like for dipper in regards to toby and ian?? bc if toby came first it would make sense for dipper to be more willing to trust ian (even though he doesn’t), but if ian came first he probably shouldn’t be as worried about toby going all dark-side on him… or am I just overthinking things??

transcendence-au:

Ian came before Toby, and was in fact the very first reincarnation of Bill since the Transcendence. He was a decent enough guy, but he wasn’t perfect – so Dipper was sure it was a fluke, that Bill’s soul was usually just as corrupt and terrible as you’d expect it to be.

So when Toby came along, Dipper thought that this would finally be his chance to prove it. Of course, you can imagine his frustration upon realizing Toby was even more of a sweetheart than Ian.

Despite having a fairly good track record, there were still times with Ian where his past life resurfaced a bit (such as calling R!Mabel “Shooting Star”), so even though Toby continued to be a precious little angel, Dipper had good reason to continue being wary of him.

(For the record, Bill never really manifests on Toby in any significant way; he’s sometimes plagued by nightmares that are really visions of his past lives, but that’s about the extent of it.)

Oh, anon, now you’re really asking the right questions!

Mod M (Ian’s creator and the author of the fic with him in it) popping in to say that some of this is true. Some of it might be true. Some of it – well, you’ll have to wait and see. Doesn’t pay to show your hand too early, after all! But I can say with confidence that what I have planned for that fic will blow somebody’s mind.
