Fic prompt: Transdimensional arc adventure with the twins, Alcor and mystery shack somehow trap in a storybook with fairy tales like Hansel and Gretel.
Mabel is beyond delighted, while Dipper and Alcor share a moment of “ugh can you believe this shit?” followed by swift denial of said bonding moment actually happening.
Have a feeling in the transdimensional arc Alcor’s secret reluctance to get close to anyone won’t help in having people trust him, especially young Dipper. Pretty sure he still keeps things hidden from them which a bad timing of revealing them would dampen their trust as a source of conflict. What things would he hide from them? Would his blending as a human more often shows the growing trust between the characters?
Oh, he started out from a bad angle for trust, honestly. Posing a riddle and threatening to take someone’s soul if it is not answered by a certain time, then revealing he already owns (his) Mabel’s soul regardless isn’t the best of first impressions if you’re angling for confidants, and afterwards it’s still pretty obvious at times that he’s keeping secrets. He’s shifty, he’s unsettling, he takes amusement in things the human Dipper Pines doesn’t…the list goes on, even as he settles in for a long wait until Bill returns.
There probably aren’t any huge earth-shattering secrets for him to keep and get caught out in after the whole “I’m you as a demon from another dimension” reveal early on, and he was prodding them toward that particular realization anyhow. Depending on his mood he might dodge a lot of personal questions in potentially suspicious ways. He may or may not tell them details of the future he came from – it’s bound to be different at this point regardless. But still, after that early bombshell of a reveal, even the little evasions could seem a bit worrisome at times.
As for pretending to be human…not necessarily. Alcor probably started the human pretense more as a way of getting under an extraordinarily suspicious little Dipper’s skin (and of interacting with townsfolk he hasn’t seen in so very long, but he’s not admitting that out loud) than as a symbol of increased trust.
Some characters fall into acceptance easier than others, of course. It all depends on the person. Alcor doesn’t necessarily make it easy though.
What would be the darkest hour in the transdimensional arc besides Bill’s reawakening for the characters, especially for Alcor, Dipper and Mabel?
At first, the rest of the cast (besides Alcor) would probably think the darkest hour was when they failed to solve Alcor’s riddle and thus forfeit one of their souls.
Later, I would say it’s hands-down the fight between a far more sadistic Bill, and a very old Alcor who’s humanity is almost entirely gone thanks to pure rage. It isn’t a pretty picture, and the Pines twins almost perish in the crossfire.
Transdimensional arc: Alcor and Dipper playing DD&MD together. At first Dipper’s a bit weirded out since he’s basically playing with his alternative demonic self, but quickly enjoys it.
It’s all the transformative fun of the Probilator incident but without the threat of ones’ brains getting eaten.
In the transdimensional arc, there was an image of Pacific meeting Dipper and Mabel’s older “cousin” who strangely looks like an older Dipper (really Alcor). What’s the story behind it and why was Alcor pretending to be human at that time? Does Alcor go around posing as their cousin at other times when blending in?
This is possible, and you’re not the only one to bring this up recently. 🙂
Fic Open Season again.
Fic Prompt: During the transdimensional arc, Alcor’s challenged by Dipper or Mabel to pretend to be a normal human for a few days without letting those who don’t know his existence to know he’s a demon. Pretending to be a human child could be an added bonus too.
It has been suggested before that Alcor pretends to be a grown up “cousin” of the twins who has come to visit. He likely uses the name Tyrone for this.

In the Transdimesional arc, Alcor involved in alt. Dipper’s Guide to the Unexplained, alt. Mabel’s Guide to~ and Fixin it with (alt) Soos. Bonus points if he’s the main subject for the first video.
He knows damn well what Dipper’s doing, whispering behind that camera. He used to do this sort of thing himself. He remembers.
Doesn’t mean he makes it at all easy for the kid.
From the transdimensional arc after Alcor shapeshifts into a dragon and takes Dipper and Mabel on a ride, people at Gravity Falls see the sight. Stan gets the idea to use that as an attraction and charge people extra if they want to ride the “dragon”. And they’re not responsible for any injuries or damages that might occur during the ride.
Alcor, having learned from a great deal of experience (and from Stan) that people pay to see shows, not realities, deliberately shapeshifts into an apparently fake recreation of an animatronic dragon. No flying or rides perhaps (aside from photo ops, $20 $200 per picture) but he does breathe fire and roar and move at unexpected moments to make people scream and then chuckle at themselves because oh it’s not real, of course not, silly me.
It drives young Dipper mad. This is honestly the whole point. Well, this and the cooler of choice steaks Stan promised for the job.
In the Transdimensional arc, would Alcor, Dipper, Mabel and others run into trouble with the Time Police or the Agents or any supernatural creatures that they might encounter?
We don’t rule out the possibility of various shenanigans during the time that passes between Alcor’s arrival and Bill’s return.
