Fic idea???

Oh man but what if in one reincarnation Mabel is born with a twin, and the twin is R!Tyrone. And Dipper is just so freaking torn because that should be HIM, Tyrone was part of HIS soul, that SHOULD BE HIM, and it partly feels like relief (because in an intrinsic way he trusts Tyrone to protect Mabel, they were the same guy once after all) and like betrayal, because it’s like Tyrone ultimately won that clone fight and supplanted him. (And Alcor might or might not watch them grow up both to make sure they’re okay and in an attempt to console himself that he was a much better brother than Tyrone. Only to end up having to face that he’s so far gone by then that he reads Tyrone’s self-sacrificing acts for his sister as stupidity. Hi Sweater Town.)

And then as the kids grow up R!Tyrone, who’s born with a fragile health and body (easy to bruise, takes him long to heal the smallest of cuts, has a freaking lot of allergies), just gets worse and worse. So by the time he’s twelve he ends up in hospital (again), the doctors tell his parents that he’s basically dying of whatever infection/illness he got this time, and R!Mabel overhears. And then summons freaking Alcor the Dreambender to try to save her brother (which might or might not get overly well).

A possible way to logic out the clone souls: The copy machine wasn’t perfect at copying life. It creates a body for the clone, but can’t make a soul. So the machine tears off fragments of Dipper’s soul to power the clones with. The fragments are sized large enough to temporarily stand on their own, but small enough that side effects are only blatantly noticeable around the 12th or 13th clone. Once the clone ‘dies’, the soul shard is supposed to reattach to Dipper’s soul. With clones 5 thru 10, that’s what happened. However, 3 and 4 supposedly live a long time, much longer than a clone would be expected to. They end up experiencing and learning things the ‘original’ never did, forcing the soul shard to change and adapt. At the same time, Dipper’s soul eventually heals over the gaps where 3 and 4 were. So we have two proto souls too different from Dipper to go back to him, and Dipper’s soul getting to the point where it doesn’t need the shards back anymore. This leaves the soul shards to grow and form independently, becoming two new souls. Based on how the subject’s been approached before, I’m going to say that new souls are as rare as or rarer than new demons. Anyways, 3 and 4 can now come back as people.

But what about Tyrone? Tyrone lived long enough to reconcile with Dipper and become a friend, rather than just a copy, but he lived nowhere near as long as 3 and 4. I’d say his soul shard was set on the path of becoming independent, but didn’t get to the point of human reincarnation. He comes back as organisms and animals until his soul has grown enough to join 3 and 4 as human.

Curious about this – if Tyrone can be reincarnated, then that means that the clones had souls. If the clones had souls, did they take them from the reincarnation cycle? Did their creation disrupt the natural order of the cycle? Or did their souls come into existence with them? If that’s the case, what does it take to create or destroy a soul? And if they have souls, can they really be considered clones at all?

And what about paper jam Dipper?

another question that goes back to the original ask:, would Tyrone still be VERY similar to Dipper?, would Tyrone still be able to mimic demon!Dipper’s thoughts?, their souls are obviously irrevocably intertwined after the clone incident, would Tyrone be able to make a flawless deal with Alcor the Dreambender since he would know the ins and outs of how he’d try to fuck someone, this is an important thing to consider, demo-ness

At some point Dipper out of boredom and nostalgia brings back Tyrone, somehow, Tyrone proceeds to flip the f*ck out since he’s been dead since Season 1 and is essentially Dipper from back then and then Mabel comes in to see: M:”Dipper, why is their a 12 year old version of you here?” D:”Oh yeah, you never met Tyrone. Tyrone meet Mabel, Mabel,Tyrone. He’s my photo-clone. Oh and those are the niblets.” T:”Nible… WHaaaaa?” Proceeds to pass out. D:”He took that well, Niblets say hello to Uncle T.”
