welcome avie!!! also i have a question. is there any point in time when alcor’s true backstory becomes well known, or even credibly rumored, even if its later completely forgotten?

Probably not. The only ones to ever know the truth would be family/reincarnations he gets very close and develops a deep trust with. There may be a few mistakes here and there but never enough to expose him. After all, there’s power in true names.

If anything the idea that Alcor the Dreambender used to be human is considered a crazy fringe-theory with no real evidence, only talked about on a select few messaging boards buried deep within the internet.

How did angels react to Alcor being a good guy? Also I imagine that a few angels will try to kill him to A: get more followers and believe that it was the right thing to do as he try to stop a cult. After they each fight against him over time they noticed how much he was holding back for those he care about, even for kids he never met before. Some of the angels tries to fight with him and earned his trust.

“Good” is highly subjective, and in any case the angels in this AU are typically less concerned with “good” than “ordered.” They’re distant, and relatively hands-off; there’s not much interaction to be had there, really, though the rare exception is quite possible.

headcanon that Alcor keeps watching over reincarnated versions of Bill, waiting for some proof that he is actually the same evil being, but he eventually gives up. Sure, some reincarnations did bad things, but none of them as evil as Bill Cipher was.

That whole thing with Ian really worried him, and the fact that these reincarnations so often seem to wind up around reincarnations of his loved ones just tends to feed into those concerns.

He does learn to…well, live with it, for lack of a better phrase.

How do you become a Mod?

you will know when the time comes

early signs of Mod transformation include, but aren’t limited to: scaly skin, excessive thirst, the undeniable urge to start excreting a hard, waxy substance around your outer limbs and torso

please be advised that there are not many self-help books available on the market for late-stage cocoon phases. also be advised that once your squishy human body is fully encased in the amalgamation of silk and saliva, your bones will liquefy. this may make it hard for some people to use their smart phones, or make wacky shadow puppets from the inside of their opaque prison. TAU cannot be held responsible for any monetary loss due to booked puppet shows.

after two weeks of pure and utter agony, you will eventually be able to ingest your previously regurgitated silk monstrosity, and emerge as a newly pupated Mod. a tiny blue lizard will visit you to bestow upon you a letter. if by chance your lizard is eaten by a hawk, contact your local transmutation help center; if your lizard is eaten by a coyote or small child, contact your local ASPCA by meditating under the moon on a foggy night.

once your lizard gifts unto you your letter, congratulations! you are now officially a mod. you may now contact other mods directly through TIM (telepathic instant messaging), and access the TAU mothership home blog.

Alcor getting bored and deciding to learn how to dance professionally by attending classes as a ‘human’

Alcor walking into these classes all smug and self-assured because he’s a demon, learning things is easy, he’s going to be a pro at this in no time and just impress everybody around.

Alcor discovering that there’ve been some new dances invented in the past few centuries, and that a few of them are known to be “devilishly difficult” for very, very good reason, and that even quasi-omniscience and inhuman grace don’t do much for you when you’re trying to learn how to make your conjured meatsuit shuffle-shuffle-hop-skip-shuffle-slide in a complex pattern to fast music within a narrow bit of space.

Alright, heyo! I’ve heard of this AU only a couple of hours ago with a shamchat Dipper/Alcor. I played Stanford and I knew literally nothing about it, but the RP came out a success! It didn’t get finished (as it was shamchat), but now I’m looking more into the AU to find that… at least in your summary, there is nothing about Stan or Ford. What happened there?

Stan takes in the twins when their parents find they can’t provide the upbringing Dipper and Mabel need given their new circumstances. The Mystery Shack is converted into the first ever Library on the Supernatural, though Stan does still sell a few knick-knacks on the side. Old habits and all that. He lives a long, fulfilling life, passing away well into old age and long after getting to meet not only his great-great niblings, but even some great-great-great ones.

Ford…Ford is where it gets interesting.

You see, this AU began before Ford returned to Gravity Falls, and so a lot of the establishing material didn’t include him. A lot of the establishing material, for that matter, still trusted that Stanford was Stanley’s real name, and that therefore Stanley was the then-theorized lost twin brother. This is why this AU has the Stanley Pines Memorial Library – as briefly mentioned above – rather than one for Stanford

Later material is therefore split along at least a couple of lines: some continue to write that era of the AU as if Ford never came back. Weirdmageddon went differently; the portal wasn’t fixed or activated. Others say that yes, Ford returned, and most of the show continued as normal with the obvious and AU-necessitated change in that Dipper was more directly involved in destroying Bill and became a demon in the process. In some of these fics, Ford is mostly present in the Shack-turned-Library. In others, he treats the Library as a home base, only popping in now and again while he spends most of his time out in the world, researching and documenting in the field, so to speak. It depends a lot on the individual writer and how much they want to change from the way the AU originally went.

Is it possible for dipper to break a deal after shaking on it?

Not outright. He can twist the terms, given the right wording. He can give minimum effort unless it’s explicitly stated that he must do otherwise as part of the deal. He can play the hell out of semantics and loose definitions and “this is what you said even if it’s not what you meant.” But when you trade a quart of ice cream for an A on your upcoming math exam, he can’t just take the ice cream and dash off to the mindscape laughing at you. How he gets you that A is up to him if you didn’t specify, but you will get it.

I noticed a recent ask and answer wherein violin and fiddle were spoken of as two separate instruments. I just wanted to point out that, at least to my knowledge, there’s actually no difference between the two. It’s just a matter of how the instrument is played. So if you’re playing fast-paced country/bluegrass type music, it’s a fiddle, and otherwise, it’s a violin.

Mod O vaguely recalls once seeing something about a slight difference in tuning as well, but cannot speak for the veracity of this information. Either way, yep, it is pretty much the same instrument. Alcor tends to play the classier side of things…even if these get rather uncanny at times.

That said, he could definitely fiddle a tune if he wanted to.
