The Transcendence AU is…well, it’s a lot of things. It’s adventure and mystery, thriller and horror, slice of life and family and friendship and love. It’s fantasy and supernatural, it’s both the reflection of chaos and of how the mods and the community one day want the world to be, it’s mistakes and redemption and suffering and joy. It is reincarnation and seeing the same soul in different skins and personalities and learning that the soul might be the same, but the person is their own. TAU is a lot of things, because it covers a lot of time and is contributed to by a lot of people.
But at its core, it is the long, long story of a boy who absorbed the powers of a dying demon and was cursed to near-immortality, to slowly-building power that eventually (millions of millennia later) tested the limits of the fabric of the world. It’s a story about what makes humans human, and what happens when you lose yourself. It’s about finding yourself, again and again, it’s about learning to let go and how to hold on. It’s about Dipper’s love for Mabel and for all of the others in his life. In the end, it’s about love, and loss, and gain.
