According to all known laws of demonology, there is no way a demon should be able to fly. His buttwings are too small to get his unnecessarily fancy duds off of the ground.

I’m stuck in Grad Student hell, and missing my babies. Send me TAU asks or headcanons plz!
hit that Mod S up@
Oh my god
Oh my god honey PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO FIC PROMPTS!
But seriously, that’s what they’re up there for! They’re open source ideas for the entire community to use. And it results in more fic and art, which everyone loves! So go nuts and have fun!

We almost all know each other just online (not irl) and well… since I made the AU, I’ll let the other mods answer that next part!
Mod M was introduced to it through the illustrious phantomrose96 and it actually spurred her to finish watching the first season and first half of the second season of Gravity Falls!
mod c kinda knew mod z already but still admired the au from afar at first, then drew a bunch of shit bc it was fun. then mod z was like ‘hey nerd u wanna be a mod’ and c was like ‘ok sure’ haha. mod c is p socially anxious tho, and busy with school recently, which has lead to pretty infrequent modding/skyping with other mods but shes trying to get better about it (sorry that was a long answer lol)
Mod S happened to see the first post that started all of this many moons ago (October 2014….so long ago omgzorz) and was inspired to fic, and then she asked mod z if she could fic the thing and mod z was all like ‘OMG’ and mod s was like ‘OMG’ and then we began to skype and 110k words later here i am.
Mod H, meanwhile, didn’t bother asking, she just went ahead and ficced the thing. And ficced another thing. And another. And started stalking the blog and obsessing over the AU and writing a stream of things for the AU while neglecting her other fandoms. And then mod z asked her to become a mod and after a bit of freaking out we had another letter in the mod alphabet.
Mod A had previously written one of Mod Z’s AUs and was following her because of that when they saw the original post for TAU. They got prodded by a friend into writing fic for it, and Mod S found them soon after they decided to do it so the two could scream about TAU fic at each other before there was a big TAU fandom. Two months later, the now-canon-noncompliant Transcend chapter 1 was finished and posted by Mod A, and they were invited to be a mod.
Mods O and K are the sole exceptions to the “don’t know each other irl” rule, since they are sisters. Mod K found this AU first by trawling the Ao3 GF archive for good fic. She soon discovered that good fic was all Transcendence AU fic, and while she didn’t understand what was going on at first, she quickly started to understand the premise and fell in love with it. She then prodded Mod O to hurry up and watch the show because there’s this cool AU she also needed to get into. Mod O still managed to discover TAU independently by searching for fanfic after finishing the show, stumbling pretty immediately across one on ff.n that was for “Transcendence AU on Tumblr.” She then searched it out, fell hard, wrote too many fanfics and got invited to mod. Then Mod K wrote a ton of fanfics as well and destroyed California and she got invited to mod.
Mod Z: I think uber-powerful characters who are simultaneously massive dorks are one of my biggest weaknesses
Mod S: Dipper being an uncle.
Mod H: I love how interactive it is, how people build off each other, how every fic and sketch and headcanon works to make the world of this AU a richer place.
Mod C: ditto everyone else bc they came up w/such good answers (was one of the last to get to this post lmao sorry), also the openness to ocs i LOVE ocs. also how a throwaway joke or a random thing someone said can snowball quickly into a New Thing (cough organ duck)
Mod M: This is like asking a mother which of their children is their favourite. But if I had to, I guess I’d say I’m in it for the horrifying transformation from human to something inhuman and all the accompanying angst! The more horrific and drawn-out the transformation, the better. 😀
Mod A: I love how expansive it’s gotten, with its own spinoff AUs and everything—it’s like it’s its own thing, separate from the show almost.
Mod O: The immense worldbuilding and how open it is in possibilities. It’s incredible how this is technically an alternate universe of Gravity Falls thanks to its roots and the basic main characters, but due to the mechanics of reincarnation and the constant, familiar anchor of a single character through Dipper’s immortality it’s free to grow so far beyond the physical or temporal limitations you typically see in a more grounded AU. We aren’t just stuck in Gravity Falls during a single summer, or even during the twins’ projected lifetime. We’ve got the entire span of the cosmos to play in, past and future, up to and even beyond the death of this universe and the creation of a new one. Anything is possible.
Mod K: I think that’s how versatile this AU is, how much it invites worldbuilding and an increased cast of character, how the people involved aren’t constricted to just one era or area. It’s the potential of the AU that’s really the best part, and I love how everybody brings just a little something different to it.

*finger guns vigorously in your direction.*

Mod K likes how you think, anon.
I was looking at star names on wikipedia ‘cuz why not, and yOU LITTLE SHITS, OH MY GOD.
